Im Training bei dem Erfolgstrainer André Fabre wurde Salutino als Führpferd für den Spitzenhengst Manduro eingesetzt. 2008 kam Salutino ins Gestüt Saartal und wurde als Deckhengst aufgestellt. Sein erster Jahrgang sind die Jährlinge von 2010.
